Friends! We're playing a show this Saturday at 6 (our friend Ben's playing at 4!) at APA...
Hey fam, so a lot of news this time around. We'll start with the good: as some of you know, we've been looking for a new bass player for a little while, our good friend Casey's stepped down from the band to pursue his film career full time (he's rocking it by the way, we're stoked for him), and we found one! He's a good friend of ours, his name is Austin Bilodeau, and he's a phenomenal musician who happens to have the voice of an angel, which we're super pumped about.
That leads us to the sad news, unfortunately. A few weeks ago, doctors found cancer in Austin's colon. The news hit us all totally out of left field, and hit us hard, Austin especially. He's since had a successful surgery to remove the cancerous mass, but is now undergoing the process of chemo and radiation to kill any surviving cancer cells, and ensure the cancer's not able to spread. It's been a tough few weeks for Austin, his family, and all of us in the band. If you're the praying type, we'd all super appreciate you keeping Austin in mind. He's an amazingly brave dude, and has been super positive despite the circumstances, but the support really does make a difference, so thank you.
We can end on a good note though :) Even with everything that's going on, because he's a freaking trooper, Austin still wants to get his bass parts recorded for the album we're working on ;) That's right y'all, PARAVEL is finally working on an album! We've got a tonne of songs written, and we're in the process of recording all our favourites. We hope to start releasing them by the summer. We're so excited about the project, and we hope you are too! If you want to stay up to date, make sure to sign up for the mailing list if you haven't already, and we're continuing to update the store with new merch all the time! Thanks for coming along for the ride, much love y'all!
